"Adopted"

Viktoriia Maiorova
Illustrator, Graphic Designer

Like many designers, I have been drawing since I was a child.

I was born in Khabarovsk, Russia, but have spent most of my life in Australia and Thailand. At school, I spent two years making paintings, but realized that this was not really my thing. Painting puts certain limits to it, and I don't like limits. Graphic design, on the other hand, opened up a completely different world for me: a lot of different programs and fields of design dragged me in and I still can’t choose where to stop, because I like everything.

I really like to draw digital illustrations and create brand identities.

In the future, I would like to become an illustrator with a strong personal brand and draw for my own pleasure. I don't really enjoy working for anyone, however I understand that it is a necessary part of my growth before I can work for myself.

"Adopted" was initially created as a BA project. But now it is much bigger than that. It is a book with 23 stories about adopted animals. It is a book that changes the way you look at srtray dogs and cats and see beyond their dirty fur. It is a book that makes you want to save a life and give a family to a lonely one.
